Pledge 2 Protect had a banner day at Carl Schurz Park‘s Halloween Howl and Healthy Hound Fair!
We had great visibility with 2 prime locations, volunteers walking around to sign hundreds of people up to pledge 2 protect, and an entry in the Group Costume contest. In case you didn’t hear, we won 1st prize! Our Pledge 2 Protect t-shirts, bandanas, and buttons went like hot cakes! We handed out literature about the dangers of a massive garbage facility in a residential area and the negative health and behavioral impact to pets during construction of the Second Avenue subway.
Better yet, our President Kelly Nimmo-Guenther spoke to the assembled crowd of thousands about protecting our pets, part of our families.
And New York State Assemblyman Micah Kellner announced the Group Costume contest, underscoring the importance of our fight to stop the East 91st Street garbage dump.
The sun was shining, the air was crisp, and the dogs were well-behaved. Who could ask for more?
